Slow, groove-led electronic music made for listening and chillout rooms rather than the dancefloor, generally 60–110 BPM. It grew out of early-1990s ambient house and the Bristol and Ibiza chillout scenes, shaped by Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation and Bonobo, and by labels like Ninja Tune.
